Daughters in my Kingdom

Last Sunday, at the end of our lesson, our RS President shared her testimony and love for the new Relief Society book, "Daughters in My Kingdom".  She encouraged each of us to really take the time to read and study this book and promised that it would help strengthen our lives and our testimonies of Relief Society.   Here is a copy of a reading chart you can use to help aid you in your personal studies: (click link below)

Relief Society is “relief of poverty, relief of illness; relief of doubt, relief of ignorance—relief of all that hinders the joy and progress of woman.”

Thank you so much to our Relief Society Meeting committee for the wonderful retreat they planned for us in Glenwood.  You are amazing!  And thanks to everyone who was able to come out and enjoy it.  We missed those of you that weren't able to come...but there's always next year.:)

And here is a link to one of my favorite songs that the choir sang at the October 2011 General Conference.  I hope we can all remember how much our Heavenly Father loves each one of us and is truly watching over each one of us!

Retreat Information - April 20 & 21, 2012

It's getting close to retreat time.  We will keep this blog updated with any information that you might need for the event.  We hope that you will mark your calendars with the dates.  It is such a wonderful opportunity to get to know the sisters in the ward on a deeper level.

The retreat will be held on Friday & Saturday, April 20 & 21, 2012.

The place that we are staying is in Glenwood and we will have maps available for handout at church.

We will be meeting at the New Brighton Community Centre, and will have two departure times:

1 p.m. - This departure is for those who are wanting to be able to attend a temple session prior to the retreat.  The session time will be at 4:30 - so we will need to be at the temple for 4:15.

6:30 p.m. is the later departure time - and we will be heading directly to the cabin.

****if you can't make either of these times, you are more than welcome to come down directly at any point.  There will be sign up sheets on facebook and at church, if you are able to give anyone else a ride down in your vehicle.

Please bring a water bottle with name on it.
A appetizer/treat (cookies/muffins/chips/veggies/fruit, etc.).  Please bring your snack in a sealed tupperware type container or ziplock bag so that clean up/freshness is made easy as possible.

We have many wonderful things planned to help us have a wonderful weekend.  (There will be a mini boot camp on Saturday morning for anyone interested as well - so bring work out clothes and runners if that's up your alley).    Please let us know if you have any questions/concerns or suggestions.    We're so thankful to our Relief Society Committee for all their planning and work that they are putting into organizing this wonderful event.  HOPE TO SEE AS MANY OF YOU THERE AS POSSIBLE.:)
